I am an Associate Professor in Media and Communication at RMIT University, Melbourne. From 2020-2023 I held an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) fellowship.
As a media scholar with expertise in the relational arrangements of technologies within the home, the focus of my work is on digital inclusion of vulnerable populations, including families in low-income households, women in rural areas, and remote indigenous communities. I also work on a range of projects that explore technofeminist approaches to AI and smart home technologies, and sextech. I am an associate investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making + Society, and the Digital Ethnography Research Centre (DERC). Details on my key projects and publications are available on this site. I have a PhD in Media and Communication (Swinburne University, Melbourne), a Master of Arts in Critical Inquiry (La Trobe University, Melbourne), and a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television (Brunel University, London). Before academia, I worked in the creative industries, in television, and as a multimedia producer.
